Ron, I have a similar background going to catholic school. I was poor so used to mow the lawns at school to pay my tuition. At 6yrs old, I had a wagon I went door to door with. I sold toad frogs for the garden, sea shells with cactus plants in dirt, chicken eggs ( could only come up with a dozen every 2 days or so). I expanded into selling pot holders and aprons made by one of my customers. Later on I got into a small amount of trouble for making an insecticide tape out of ups tape and painting it with malathion water before I stuck it on under the cabinets, I believed it really worked back then. Collected junk from the local factories trash cans and resold it. (hoola hoops and frisbees). I even went so far as to sell peeps at a neighbor girl in a card board box when I was 7. Got into big trouble for that. I was completely legit by the time I was 10 I am happy to say. Steve

    Talking

The fundamental philosophy that runs like a red thread throughout this book is simple: The future of our children, and all future generations for that matter, begins with us! Children of all walks of life have the right to have access to the skills and tools by which they might someday – through their own hard work and perseverance, obtain financial freedom.

He mentioned: Quit screwing around with ‘busy-work’ that you gives you the illusion of doing work. i.e. Instant Messenger, Facebook, Twitter. I love Twitter – but I’m not on it except for specific times.

    Very cool.

Busy work is the silent killer of entrepreneurs, especially online as there's too many distractions.

This is an excellent idea! As a former professor, I know how important it is to expand minds.
Actually, one of the interns at my office was a successful inventor when she was in grade school. Apparently her ideas were ripped off via some kind of school project invention platform. She tells me this would of happen differently if she had access to a resource like this one.

Great Thread. Incredibly valuable. I'll definitely be checking up on the book. And thanks Caleb for the other book suggestions...several are new to me, and I'll be sure to check them out as well.
