Your idea is the beginning of what can come to be another immensely successful e-business model.

In regards to MillionDollarHomepage.com. I think it was a brilliant amateur e-business model considering what the creator's goal was. And, in spite of his goal, the success of that site, IMHO, is on a short lifecycle. It's based on PR and simple internet form of "gimic marketing". When u go to his site, the only exposure the e-marketers who buy the pixels for ad-space get, is in spite of the bland curiosity of anyone who goes to the site. We just simply click curiously on these small icons to see what pops up. Really, no significant invested interest in using the webpage for a viable search engine or directory. But, the fantastic thing is, you may be surprised by where u are taken.

However, it seems he doesn't limit who can buy ad-space, just how little or how much. If his site is flooded with e-marketers who are notorious spammers, pop-up artists, etc., people are going to find no interest in investigating the different icon links, and lose interest with it cuz all they saw were unfavorable sites.

He was smart and got the gains he wanted. The site was interesting for its 15-mins of fame. (And yea, there were and are several copy-cat sites that I came across. His is the only one worth mentioning due to originality...the rest were...well...who cares? haha).

See I am having a little trouble deciding if I want to shop around and find a person good with websites that would want to do my Pixel Advertising Idea as a partnership? Or Do I just keep reading the website for dummies book I got, and keep learning on my own and do it myself to start??

Hi

You've passed the first test - never give up - never, never, never
(Winston Churchill)

I very much agree on two earlier points
1. Directory sites are not the way to go - they are simply boring
2. Getting traffic to your site is paramount - and herein is a catch 22 - no traffic no advertisers, no advertisers no traffic.

Pixel micro-advertising is not about pixel micro-advertising - that is the tool not the business.

and finally be ever optimistic
Regards
Mozzie
