    Is my Idea Illegal?

So it is kinda a play of lala.com
but i basically want to start an online platform that is like itunes...
so you can add as many songs to the online playlist...then like itunes you can shuffe, play, search...no money is exchaged...
the only thing you can't to is download it...

There will be a buy mp3 option also for profiting purposes!

    What do u guys think?

Dime a dozen; unless you have some serious cash to invest into the idea I would say it's a waste of time. Also, I believe you're supposed to pay the music companies some type of $ even if you're just streaming the music.

Is there a way to just post them and then give them a percent of each sale?

    Hmm, I am not sure.

How would your website differ from ones already available, like iMeem and last.fm ?

These are two websites I typically use when searching for new music. Both have the ability to create and save online playlists with the ability to stream them whenever, also both have the option of ordering songs.

Its not a bad idea, just not a relatively new one. If you were to do this, you really have to think about what would set yours apart and make it better than the ones already available.

Lots of competition already as others have pointed out. Unless you have some new tech or significant improvement on the current model, you will just end up losing heaps of money.

This could be a good idea if you get some sort of exclusives or first right to debut songs directly from the artists or record companies.
