If you are the right person and have the right business/company and are driven then NO...........MBA insures you of nothing but more debt.........not putting education down..........but folks need to stay just dumb enough to make a lot of $$. If I encounter the right individual whether from "Yale or Jail" I can help them get what they want from life. Remember this...........If it is going to be....then it is up to ME...............and that is still true.

Going to a good MBA program is a plus specially if your undergraduate degree is not a business one. The whole college experience helps people to think and exposes them to different ways of thinking.

Good programs are usually built around cases and team projects, which teaches you how to work with groups, shows you how to look at problems, and sharpens decision making skills. It will also makes you a bit more marketable in case the big idea does not pay off.

Can you be successful without one? Of course! But discounting its value is foolish.

I believe that entrepreneurial classes taken during an MBA at a premier school ... It is just as important that they also learn how to analyze the viability of ideas.

MBA degree important for Entrepreneur. Entrepreneur is being taught in our university with MBA degree. MBA is a business degree and Entrepreneur is also a business course so this course must be taught with MBA. Students will be able to get double knowledge one from MBA degree and other from Entrepreneurship course.

Is it necessary no, but it can be very beneficial. An MBA helps to teach you many aspects to running a business a non-MBA entrepreneur may not know. Organizational design, advanced marketing techniques, and accounting principles are all skills that refined during and MBA program that can be directly translated to starting a business.

But I think we can all agree that nothing is more important to be a successful entrepreneur than having that passion and desire to succeed.

I absolutely do not believe you need to have an MBA to be an entrepreneur. There is nothing like actually being an entrepreneur is rather than studying to become one. School will never prepare you for the challenges you will face in building a business and dealing with the day to day issues of being an entrepreneur. On the plus side depending on the type of business you want to have (ie tech) it can help you establish connections for potential investors but if you build a great product than you don't need those connections. Also, if you get an MBA you will likely be investing $100-150k to receive the education that you will later need to pay back and when you start a business you want to have as much of a cash cushion as possible. I've also interviewed several people with MBAs from top universities who went on to work in finance and consulting and they said nothing could have prepared them for running their own business because you cannot learn real-life business situations in a classroom.

Yes for sure. It is said that it is not necessary but if you have a MBA degree, you can definitely be a boon to a business.

An MBA isn't needed, but I do think it's important to stay connected to your university you graduated from. You will find professors, associations and clubs that you can stay active in and gain valuable insight from.
