Is it still possible to sell at discount prices?

I'm coming up with some ideas for a small business. I want to get practice at running my own small business before I start my business management degree at uni and without me being able to get a loan as I need to have a mortgage as collataral (I think those are the laws in the UK) I can't really start something completley new. I was thinking of getting some clothes (like ralph lauren) at wholesale prices and selling them on. However is it still possible to sell them at discount prices as I would have to sell them on ebay where there a lots of cheap stuff already and it would be hard to be competitive.

Is this the best thing to do or should I be thinking on other lines?

    Thanks

    Charlie

Absolutely, cheap things still reign! That's why Dollar Tree is still one of my top stock picks. But that brings up the issue: can you price your clothing lower than, or at least the same as, the other eBay sellers? If not, I don't think you'd be very successful.

You can most definitely do it. The only problem is there is A LOT of competition out there already. Unless you come up with something new and innovative for it, the amount you can make out of it will be limited.
