    Question Is it really possible?

To find partners and Investors , and do business with people online but never meeting in person?

I see this a lot here on the board where someone wants to hook up, and partner with someone from another state, clear across the country, or even the world without ever meeting or intending to meet them in person.

I know this is a site where it's important to make connections, but is this far fetched? I think so, in 99% of the time.

It all depends what type of business you're running. This is quite common for web developers, but I would definitely stay away from it for a brick and mortar business.

What about software development, companies do it all the time where the chinese and russians are hired online every day. Why can't investors do the same?

I have yet to find a potential Venture Capitalist/Partner/Angel Investor on these forums but I have not lost hope because I hope to find one of the rare lurkers who are serious about making a huge amount of money since I have a truly innovative project.

It is definitely possible to work with people across the world without even meeting them. But I do agree with Encrypted above, this mainly works for online or tech related businesses. For brick and mortar companies, it could get quite risky.

I would imagine that a high dollar amount item would most likely be best if it were sold in person, but plenty of buying and selling goes on all the time. Ebay sells everything from cars to businesses, and people rarely every see the item in person, and they still trust that the seller isn't lying. The internet is going to take over consumer spending in the future. People can buy plenty of things online (except for clothes or other items that need to be fitted first).

A business that let's people buy groceries online and have them delivered to their door would do really good in my opinion. It would save people the time and effort of actually going to the store, which is what the internet is most famous for.
