Is it legal to copy a business?

    Hi,

I was wondering if it was legal to copy someone else's business and tweak it up a little bit? Would the other business be able to take legal action if they found out? Let's say I wanted to copy how expedia deals with hotels. Could I develop a company similar to expedia but just a little different?

    Thanks...Robert

You'll want to check with an attorney to be sure, since you've provided VERY few, if any, details, but I think you're fine as long as you're not infringing on a patented system that they're using.

    Vague question.

Don't copy content, colors, logo, programming, or general site image. Make sure you don't do that and you are fine. There is nothing wrong with taking a business concept and improving it.
