    Is it just me?

Is it just me, or do you guys think that there is alot of bullshit (spam, get rich quick schemes, MLM, etc.) on here. Not to say that there isn't quality content, but still I say atleast 15 to 20% of the posts on here are for what appears to be non-legit shit.

    What do you guys think?

Its not just you, there's a LOT of BS on this site. If you don't like it, go to an alternative place.

There are a lot more people here who use the board to push eBooks and other internet ad-revenue "ideas" than I thought there would be.

When I came here I was looking for a place where budding entrepreneurs were online, working towards feasible ideas and sharing their tips/tricks and asking questions, on the internet.

What I quickly came to realize was that the above didn't exist online for ONE reason - because those who were seriously pushing thorugh ideas - who weren't writing posts about blogging for business and complaining about having the drive for business but no ideas :shrug - then why are you trying to be an entrepreneur: were out there DOING. CREATING their businesses. MAKING mistakes. GENERATING ideas.

And that to tap into these circles requires OFFLINE exposure.

it's interesting - the rate at which the internet is supposedly bringing us together but in many avenues (venture capital and entrepreneurship being one of many) the best way to go about making connections is still offline.

...i wonder if thats true across the board.

ok thats one way to lose a member
I dont think the stuff you call 'bs' is useless. People just view things differently.

The fact that there's bs on this site is to no fault of the moderators of this board.

They have no control over who comes and how people interpret its use.

Its just a fact that some of us feel is a bit disappointing.... That so much time on this board is spent by people trying to drive traffic to their sites or creep on others ideas rather than on people who have decided to plow forward and the sharing of ideas by these (the latter) people.

    Good enough for me

I can say I just joined minutes ago and I am already impressed with the quality.

I figure if I can pick up one new idea it's worth enduring 15 seconds to pass by a few spam posts.

A new idea, like a new business idea?

Or you have a business and you can find a new idea to help get the business off the ground?!

I have several business interests and always need new ways to grow. However I am not closed minded either so something really good might catch my eye.

    No it's not just you.

There is a lot of BS here, and I don't mean the spam, ebooks, mlm's.
I'm talking about outright fantasy lies. I am afraid someone will get hurt
money wise by falling into one of these scams/lies.

All in all this is a very good sight, I have no complaints about the modereators, I think most spam is deleted in a few hours they are posted.

Also something to consider is the amount of Private Messages that goes on
here. We can't see these, but I'm sure they add to the purpose of this site.
I myself have PM'ed at least 4 members and have shared info or have recieved good info from them.

    Ok

    Woah!

I see I opened a Pandora's Box. I wasn't saying the site was undermoderated or full of spam or anything like that. In fact, I think you moderators do a great job here, in fact it's one of the better forums online. Honestly, I've come to realize that there are few truly great forums that actually exist in the online world.

The purpose of my comment was to say that there does exist some less than quality business propositions. I'm not saying that they are blatant in your face "Viagra for $1" schemes, but nonetheless there are some risky business propositions that do abound.

I apologize if I offended anyone.

I don't know that you opened a Pandora's Box...cuz we all seem to be saying the same thing - that the site has some of the negativity but that doesn't stop us from coming here, and that the nonsense on the site is to no fault of the moderators.

Just cuz there's things you don't like about something, doesn't mean the folks behind that something messed up in any way.

    MlM, Spam etc.

I would like to THANK our mods for all their hard work in deleting the spam posts. Unfortunately, we can't get them all but we surely try and do our best.
The best way for the other members to help us eliminate the spam is to notify the mods about the spam post and member's name. This will help us to delete the post quicker and do what we all want to do on YE, which is network with other quality individuals.

Thanks again to the Mods and let's try and keep YE as spam free as possible.
