Exclamation Is Entrepreneurship in your Genes?

Well, the question above is true. Scientists and researchers have to come a conclusion stating that entrepreneurship is ones genes. To become a successful entrepreneur one has to inherit those genes from his/her ancesters. But I do not fully believe this study. To read more about this study go here. Do post your comments about this latest study.

I am not sure that I believe its in your genes, I think it has to do how you have been raised and educated.

Interesting study though . . .

I suppose if we look at our ancestors, the age they were living in didnt offer much entrepreneurial desire, so for me i suppose i get it from my dad, where he gets it from i havnt got a clue.

This is the age to make a difference and break that mould that has been in our family for generations, do you agree?

Yeah I do agree with your individual opinions guys. But inheriting a certain entrepreneurial trait from the ancestors is what bothers me. I think entrepreneurship comes as an instinct and sometimes these instincts are created. So I do not support this genes study, but I cannot disregard it totally as it is being researched by qualified scientists.

Quite an interesting question, and now that I think about it entrepreneurship is definately in my genes! my uncle runs his own toystore with a second one opening in europe, before that he scoured the countryside for lard to process to sell to soap companies! my other uncle runs a few chicken rotiseries(sp), but he changes what he does every few years. my great aunt and uncle used to run a butcher shop, a few actually, but now they are up to something else. even my mom and dad have been self sufficient.

so yes, i would definately say its in my genes.

don't fret mate... i think as much as past family members i've known to run businesses its all about learned skills... both my folks run businesses and i run a business... my great-grandfather was a real estate investor and ran a farm... and my grandfather started a transport company that is still running today... i didn't really know my great-grandfather or grandfather... i think the genes study while interesting still isn't accurate. It really comes down to you and simply learning these skills... maybe the fact of seeing other family members be successful in business takes away the mystery that would otherwise be there for people having no exposure to this but its mainly and largely learned in my opinion

It may be in the genes, but just because it is, it doesnt mean you will be a succesfull entrepreneur.

Its not your genes that make someone else buy your product or service...

I do agrre with the above opinions, and as soccer-boy said said ones genes doesnt make one a successful entrepreneur but there has to be something which these genes help you to become an entrepreneur. After all its in the genes!

I tend to agree with Andreas. You must be taught to have a love for serving others and for making money at a young age. I really don't suspect it's in one's genes.
