    Is Entrepreneurship Education Worthwhile?

    Hi Guys,

I am writing a book on entrepreneurship education for university/college educators. In doing my research I have spoken to a lot of educators, but very few students.

If you have studied entrepreneurship at university/college, do you feel it was worthwhile

I am hoping to be able to contrast the opinions of students and educators to give my book some balance.

wishing you all the best, and thanking you in anticipation of your contribution

    regards

    yea..i took classes
no, the uni classes were not useful...the best practice for entrepreneurship education is experiential learning like business plan comps, intrapreneurship internships or programs similar to EIT. these things are very expensive to run, so the only uni in australia with proper facilities for good entrepreneurship education is agse

that said..there are some really good industry programs for startup education..namely the nswew and yaa...which is how i learnt it..through these programs and biznet...which is off the hook in terms of quality and usefulness

so..look...the problem with entrepreneurship is that they either don't know how to teach it..or they can't afford to teach it

...erhhh..its a painful topic...there's been waaay too much research done on how to teach the discipline, and the results are very conclusive..the problem in australia ofcourse is that our major unis have avoided investing in this space and putting together entreprenership centres...namely of course, because the real roi is in catering for the education export market..who don't want to study entrepreneurship because it's not a skill listed dep. of immigration website

    and on it goes
