    Is a high-school diploma needed?

I'm 17 and I've dropped out of high school for reasons that were out of my control. Is it possible to still attain wealth at an early age of like 22-24 even though I don't have a high school diploma? Personally, I don't see how a high school diploma would be needed if you're not going to work in a job, unless it's something investors look at?

You should take a high school equivalency test. Basically get a state high school diploma that says that you have a diploma just doesn't state a school.

Not that it's any of my business, but how was dropping out of high school out of your control? And I'd try to get a GED. I don't know many decent paying employers that hire people without high school diplomas.

I'm currently doing some stuff in real estate and making a few thousands off that, basically what I should really be asking is, say if you dropped out and yet you were making a nice amount of money, would you still choose to get a GED? I'm wondering how a GED or High School diploma would help someone in any way to make money or increase their likelihood of getting money.

Is a High School diploma worth anything besides something to fall back on?

It's just for show, showing that you graduated high school. Basically it just shows that you can get work done and adds to your experience; like a college degree, although college actually trains you for your profession in most cases.

Really? Care to share with us exactly how you are making thousands in real estate?

The general rule is that the higher your education the more money you will make, this is offcourse with a job that pays a salary. Like others have mentioned it is good to have a fallback plan and also a diploma shows your level of credibility like it or not...It is not necessary to attain wealth but is important to a certain degree.

If you do not wan't to make career with idiotic employers, then you don't need any diploma. IMHO those persons, who have diploma are total idiots. For example, when I went back from US to Estonia I saw that persons working in Estonian Energy customer service does not know how to calculate ampers to kilowa

This is the textbook definition of a generalization.

You're too young to even legally enter into a real estate contract. I'm not saying that you're not working in some real estate capacity and making money, but as of now, you can't buy, you can't sell, and you can't broker. That's where the money is made.

I'd use your last year as a minor to at least get your GED. You don't need to go to College, but you should at least finish high school. You'll be happier that you did down the road.

umm..yea i guess..it depends on how gifted you are

look, do what u're doing..but don't tell people you haven't finished high school...likewise, later on, don't tell people you haven't gone to college

business is weird..people want to feel safe so there's a lot of discrimination against those without formal education..even though people with qualifications are no less prone to fuck ups

like, if a businessman told me hasn't finished school etc..i'd be prejudiced..i guess everyone just assumes that school drop outs are dumb..caus it makes people feel better about them selves..and plus it's true most of the time (though, for a lot of reasons, including social disadvantage etc)...people are unreasonable i guess

then again..how smart or gifted do you think you are? your assessment may not be congruent with reality. without education, you may not have the skills or the perspective to educate your self outside of formal training...and then you'll be stuck, at the intellectual development level of a teenager (much like the majority of the population)...living in a fairy tale world beleiving that you can achieve anything...untill you grow up that is

i guess..in a discouraging way, you should finish school because you're probably too young, naive, inexperienced, invincible and overconfident to make the right decisions about your future..as most teens are...so, play it safe. do what mum says.

There are hundreds of high school drop out millionaires, and many billionaires. They found a niche, found a need and filled it.

It can be done. Nowadays you need a diploma or GED to get any kind of job.

But to answer your question, you don't need anything to get rich and own your own business. It isn't required. Some people think you need a masters degree to make money. Not true. If it's been done hundreds and hundreds of time without it, you can too.

I think it'd be smart to get a GED tho, to have something to fall back on.

it helps to temper statements like this by going to the nearest welfare office to see what the other high school drop outs are doing when they're not making millions.. caus..ya know..a bit of reality couldn't hurt
