Question Is a business degree worth it?

For an entrepreneur that is. Yeah, it helps if you want to be employed in the business field...but will it really help you to run your own business? More than what you can learn from reading books and doing self-study that is.

I'm just curious.

I really don't want to go to school for business, but if it will really help a lot then I'll consider it.

is there a major you're looking at other than business?

I'm a double major in political science and marketing. Although I don't think my business (marketing) major was particularly necessary for me to start a business, it was helpful in teaching basic business concpets that I've used throughout the process.

I have a BA in both Marketing and Management. And I would have to say that both have really helped me start my company. Also, they are my backup plan if I really need to apply for a "real" job. It's always nice to have business knowledge and taking classes is a good way to gain such knowledge as long as you soak it in versus just being an extra body in class.
