Inventions
I know most everyone makes lists of business ideas but I am wondering do you also brainstorm or write down ideas about new products you can create?
All of my brainstorming is focused on businesses, I never really concentrate on making a physical product.

Really there is only two questions to think of when thinking about inventing something.
Can i improve something? What do the consumers need?

Remember that in advanced economies there has been/still is a large shift from products to services. Many of your business ideas may be an invention of a service, as opposed to an invention of a product. This is both legitimate and normal because of the shift to service economies.

I do... because I believe that some products can have so much "value-add" that with the proper marketing and awareness could make you millions in a short amount of time. I don't bother with anything that isn't far superior to what's currently out there.

I think that invention could work best for those that know how to take their invention to the right sources.
Although invention will continue to be part of our lives, I think that the aggregators and marketers will continue to make the big bucks out of inventions. Inventors will continue to get awards to feel proud of their work and enjoy the fame, while the fortune is enjoyed by the securer of the invention and the one that brings it to market.
I have seen cases where inventors have signed away their invention to their organization with an army of attornies for a mere $1 (one dollar). Not bad for years of work and late sleeps, hm?

I do brainstorm these ideas, but they are on piles of paper that I never get back to. I place the majority of my focus on building businesses.

I write down anything that can generate money or help someone. the idea might not be good at first but if you go back to it later it might spark another idea.

But if you invent something AND market it well, wouldn't that be great? I'm looking into something like this, and I think it may just work...

post your invention on itchynoggin.com
I also do a lot of thinking and inventing especially when I see people making millions on dumb ideas. Frankly that's what is great about inventing. No matter how simple or strange the invention, someone will want to buy it.
I mad this website on my free time, where I can post my ideas and inventions for people and companies to read about. I only post a description so that even if you read it, you don't have enough information to reproduce or steal it. This way the more traffic I get, companies can read these descriptions and contact that inventor by anonymous email. This way only interested companies would come to you, and you have better leads. It's a really simple website, and I hope you guys check it out ItchyNoggin.com.
Thanks and keep inventing.
Arnold
