    Inventing!

Hey, I am talking to a manufacturer for a plush teddy that i am wanted to get manufactured. But this is my first invention and don't know what i need to do. I have designed this item and the manufacturer will supply and distribute it for me.

But before i can start selling them to retailers is there anything i need to do.

Am i going to need to register a company for this product?
Do i need an accountant for this product?

If there is anything i need to know thats really important, please tell me.

    Thanks

    Danny Morgan

Sounds like you have your wagon on front of your horses.

If you're serious about this venture, you should set up your corporation before doing any commerce. No retailer with d business with you without it. You will also most likely need to purchase insurance.

I don't know the situation of your manufacturer, but I myself would not be having the manufacturer distrubute for me. Just like I don't want my dentist doing my annual physical.

If you're going to be in retail, you'll need a UPC code too.

"Set up your corporation?" Why? Why are you advising this entrepreneur that they need to set up a corporation?

    No reason.

Kemb... what exactly do you want to manufacture? Is it going to be a teddy (lingerie) or a teddy bear? I'm just trying to get an idea of what you are trying to do... Sorry.. sometimes I'm a little slow..

There's nothing you need to do right now really, besides collecting and paying taxes. Later on you'll have to register for revenue accounts with the government when your sales exceed a certain amount.
