I hope I didn't put a damper on your idea, I used to be the sales manager for a media company in the UK, and I know for a fact that the studios required a deposit of around £million. before they would let us sell any DVD titles,
and they always stab you in the back, if your competitor gave them a better lunch.
Steer clear,

yeah..it's one of those things...check out AIMIA or slattery's, they should doing plenty of IPTV events as well...as far as the Hilton conference goes, tell 'em you're a student doing a paper for uni - they might give you a free ticket :-)

IPTV is a huge thing. It's gonna be around for decades and they'll be plenty of time to catch the coming wave. the challenge it to get in the right place and start paddling. like I said, there's a lot of shops doing IPTV in Australia...check'em out..maybe after working there you'll change your mind about the opportunity - or become like one of those early google employees who went for a startup that listed in 12 months and made everyone a millionaire

now check out Galvanize and kick some ass!

I believe that have plenty of these if I'm correct. Such as, onlinecinema.org, watchtvsitcoms.com, and ssupload.com. If you are not referring to these types of sites then disregard what I said.

Cinema

Netflix is already streaming DVD's over the internet. The quality on their streams are pretty good too. I imagine this will be the future of movies very very soon. The quality of the Netflix movies are probably good enough to connect a cable from your computer to your tv and stream it.

OKies thanks, i will have a look at some more IPTV stuff. I guess joost is probably going to be the largest player in the market for IPTV.

Fuck... another good idea I had thought back in my "beginner years" of entrepreneurship that I knew would be a hit. Either way, it would be a good idea in my opinion, although it'd take some strong money.

lol yeah i know what you mean young spark....i had this idea in back in 1997 but after doing a bit of a work up on it the technology wasnt really available for main stream people to watch online (in australia)....not enough speed etc.

These days its doable but the capital investment would be pretty big for a startup and you are also behind the curve with lots of shops already into it.
