Interested in becoming an entrepreneur in High School, any advice?

    Hello,
I am a senior in high school and am very interested in all aspects of business. I would like to start up a smaller venture for the knowledge and experience that it could offer, along with the prospect that I could later open a more prominent venture.

I'm still contemplating ideas for this so any advice or personal experience would be much appreciated. Also, I personally believe that a team will always surpass an individual. I would very much like to find another person to share in this business venture should one come to fruition, if you are interested or have similar goals feel free to message me.

    Looking forward to your input,
    CoreyO

    Hey Corey,

I had the same ambitions you are having 2 years ago as a senior in high school. That entrepreneurial spirit really sprung up and bit me and it's all I could imagine doing. Lost interest in college for the "getting a good job" aspect and just wanted to learn more about owning and running a business.

Only you can really decide on what kind of venture you are going to take on. Best advice, and you'll hear it over and over again. Build a business around something you enjoy. Seems so simple, but it's necessary in building a successful business. If you don't have 100% of your interest and time into it, it's going to struggle.

Having partners is a good idea...ONLY...if you guys can improve the others weaknesses. If you are two like minded people, it's probably not the best idea to partner on a venture, you need that criticism and knowledge from another person with a different view to really make sure you cover all your corners.

I have basically a "board" of people, 4 others that are managing certain aspects of the business. They have as much say as what direction we take as I do alone. Again they're covering the areas I'm less familiar with, so I trust them, and give them the freedom to do what they need to do for the betterment of the business. And they enjoy it because they have control and say over their aspects of the business.

Let me know if you want to discuss anything!

    Jeff-

Thank you for the advice! And I would very much be interested in further discussing this with you, is there any way we can do so privately?

Also, when I mentioned having a partner with similar interests I meant similar interests for the end result of the business venture. The power behind this being that our strategies on how to get there would be invariably different, which would help as far as seeing from another perspective. Sorry about being vague on that.
