This is the Canadian affiliate of Bizfilings.

It is the company I used when I incorporated.

I filed with them a couple of days ago, I'll let everyone know how it turns out (I'm sure there will be no problems).

The registration process was very simple, it took less than 10 minutes.

If you are looking for more information, an excellent resources was the Incorporation and Business Guide for Ontario. While this was written regarding corporations registered in Ontario, the concepts are similar to other provinces / federal.

http://www.fedpubs.com/subject/business/incguide.htm

The Corporations Canada web site is also a great resource.

Good read... i think the strategis link is very good. Describes the ins and outs very clearly.

How much did you pay to incorporate? Just curious! Get back to me!

Hey Outta Hand,

It varies based on the type of corporation, whether it is Provincial or Federal, and the options you choose.

The pricing is laid out at the above URL.

Nice links guys, few questions on my part:

1) Does it matter which extension you choose to incorporate with, or are they all the same? Inc., Ltd., Corp. etc?

2) How hard is it to get the name you want, does the gov' accept most names?

thanks

You can choose the extension when you choose your name. They give you three tries:

- Company Name Inc.
- Other Name Ltd.
- Third Try Corp.

Then as part of the registration process you pay $30 for a NUANS search. If one of the names is available, that is what they register for your corporation.

If none are available, you're out $30 and either a) spend $30 more with 3 more names or b) register as a numbered company.

The government can be a bit picky with names. If it is in used or too similar to another companies name or trade mark it will not be allowed.

A good place to check your names before submitting them:

http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/cipo/trade...ch/tmSearch.do

You can also register as a numbered company (ie - 101138 Ontario Inc) and avoid the $30 for the NUANS search.
