Unhappy I'm so nervous, my business is almost ready to open!

I'm really nervous, frightened almost of actually opening my business doors in the next few weeks. I hope this is normal when starting your own business everything keeps telling me to persevere so I guess that's all that matters right? I am really happy and excited to get everything moving I just keep picturing in my head how I want things to work out once everything is up and going.

Everything is in place though I have quite a few people locally waiting to buy my product, good contacts with local newspapers, quality source for my product, and a really good team on top of that. I have the jitters but I'm going to keep on going and not let my self stop until I gave it my all!

Hell, look at it this way. Even if you DO fail, you're young and have plenty of time to rebuild.

Hey, relax a little bit, worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it wont get you anywhere.

good luck with everything man, keep us updated!

Thanks, I guess it's not so much failing that makes me nervous but just little what if's so to speak. The fact that having my dreams come true feels like it's really a possibility is just wild and it's already making me look at life different than I used too! I sound crazy I know but oh well haha just anxious sitting around.

I've been working on my blog and constantly researching and double checking my business plan. I'm waiting to get my sales tax id back so we can finally get the last few pieces together. Even though we're starting really small I believe that having a good foundation will help tremendously in the future.

You've got the right idea. Without a solid foundation, you're really just asking for trouble - otherwise good business will fail, and great businesses will only reach mediocrity.

With regard to worrying, there's no way to stop your feelings of anxiety. There are plenty of techniques to help people manage these feelings, such as meditation, but I like to try to channel these feelings into positive output. When I'm laying in bed anxious about an aspect of my business, I get up and knock out a bit of work relating to that aspect in order to improve the chances that it will not cause problems. Maybe try that.

You'll be just fine. You'll have to keep us all posted on how things go for you once you get those doors opened.

And out of curiosity, what part of STL will you be located?

Good luck! It's so exciting to open your first business. Just remember to breath and relax. Have fun with it, and if anything goes wrong, there's always a way to fix it.

This is one of my favorite quotes and it always makes me feel like I'm on the right track as I follow my heart towards my business.
“We stand on a mountain pass in the midst of whirling snow and blinding mist, through which we get glimpses now and then of passes that may be deceptive. If we stand still we shall be frozen to death. If we take the wrong road we shall be dashed into pieces. We do not certainly know whether there is any right one. What must we do? ‘Be strong and of good courage.’ Act for the best, hope for the best, and take what comes…if death ends all, we cannot meet death better.”
