Hello fellow entrepreneurs, just want to share with you the media attentions for my http://smallbizpages.ca.

I thought that it will be like a 'David and Goliath' story when I'm the David and big corporations is the Goliath and I used the technology as the slingshots. I haven't analyse the article but it seems more like that I'm an innovator or I'm re-inventing the wheels.

Because of this, I did some aggressive web advertising, using my own webmarketing services and I'm rank number 4 in Yahoo for the keywords "canada's small business directory" . Google might take some time to pick up my sites. I think it is a good tactical move to do this parallel to this media attentions.

What do you think of the article? & What should I do next to maximize my exposure?

When you are getting expose, maybe offer some kind of incentive for businesses to list themselves in your directory?

I am looking for something similar to what your website offers. I need something that will allow me to create a directory that will allow me to put in names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. Any ideas?

Its a directory, but on the Internet. I think I have a great idea, but I don't know what to use.

I am sure there's a script or something else that will manage the content other than simple HTMl.

Yes, I'm having a promotions at this point of time. Whoever submit their listings till august 2005, they'll 1 year free of 'deluxe' advertising package. here is the detail http://www.smallbizpages.ca/advertise.php

After 1 year and they don't want to upgrade, it will go back to basic listing.

What do you guys think about this? How am I going to put this thing together? Should I say; 'SmallBizPages.ca is launching a free Paid advertising listings where they can list their blah...blah....

How can I make them curious?

Thanks mpnetwork, BetterEdit.com. Yes it's bringing listing. I can also use this as a leverage to make deals.

It's also great for getting more PR. You can now say "as featured in the globe and mail" when trying to get news releases on other sites, in local papers etc etc.

Gambit, would you care to explain how you went about getting the article? I've had some similar write ups in local papers but it's always good to learn from other's techniques.

I'd say optimize your smallbizpages.ca main page, to me it appears very plain and un-directory like!
