I'm going to be creating a forum for small businesses to network globally.

The format is going to be similar to this site I guess, but its going to have different boards created for specific industries. There will be 2 main sections. A B2B global networking section and a global marketplace section where companies can market/promote goods. It will be free to join and post but I might create private groups or sections where you have to pay I guess. I will probably rely on selling advertising to generate income from the forum. I got the PhPBB set up for free with my site hosting package so I figured I might as well put it to use.

Any thoughts or suggestions? What you drive you to come?

Why wouldn't it work. I'm not trying to make money off of it as it is only going to be a part of my site. I just wanted to create a place for businesses, freelancers and consumers to network. Thats my main focus. Are you saying that won't work or are you saying it won't generate revenue?

Yeah they have this forum and many other ones, why would people go to yours instead.

This forum isn't the same as a lot of people on here don't have real companies. This forum is more of a hub for people looking to become something or to get ideas. My forum is more for companies looking to network and build a new client base. Its going to be a global forum, but i'm targeting the caribbean markets since thats what i've been dealing with thus far. At the end of the day, if you're trying to market yourself why limit yourself to one particular site or 2 or 3. Your goal should be to explore every avenue as possible. Its not about going to one site over the other. You should be trying to join as many as possible even if it brings in a few more customers. Its free advertising for you and yours.
