    Ideas to make "sex sell"?

    Yooo people,

Ok some of you may know Hooman from this forum - so me and him are actually in a similar boat.

We had a similar idea - on different sides of the pond - USA/UK - and we tried an idea but both of us couldn't get it to lift off accordingly.

    Now speaking for myself -

    - I have some good material. I have images where all the rights belong to me, FHM style images -

    - I'm a graphic designer by profession so I know how to lay them out if need be for some promotional or "profit" use -

    - I have direct access to the girls used in the shoots if I need them to come with me and promote something, say on the streets or the local mall

    - All the girls are university students

I think those are some strong points.

Now originally it was to be a calendar aimed at the university market run off by advertising from local stores.

With the current economic climate I feel that's also a reason companies are not willing to invest in something they know nothing about as it's totally a new thing.

Now I'm trying to think of other ideas where "sex sells" - I want to be able to target it at the university crowd so think, 18 - 24 year olds, mainly males

Ok the calendar is one thing but now I am planning to launch it at the end of the year and instead of looking for advertising, I'm going to invest my own money to get say 5000 printed, and then get the girls themselves to sell them and obviously I'll hope they all sell and I make a profit. Nothing amazing, but some sort of profit.

In that way - I'm promoting the name and hoping that later on, people/companies will learn about it.

However does anybody have any other ideas in which I could use these models/girls/students that I have access to, and obviously all are pretty good looking and use them in a way to create something unique or just...profitable but fun.

Looking forward to any ideas lads

This is certainly no revolutionary idea or anything, but why not have a website where people can see a selection of the photos and either order the calendar through PayPal, or purchase a subscription to have access to all the images?

Well I don't think personally it would work - it's too boring or...I just don't see it working to the amount I would want to.

I think I need to go out on the streets and sell it - but first I have to invest say $3k to get 5000 calendars printed.

... depends on the quality of the photos. Maxim gets a decent bit of traffic.

I am currently a senior at Arizona State University in Tempe. This is the birthplace of "Tempe 12," a calender featuring twelve of the hottest girls out of a student body of over 60,000. Everyone know's of Tempe 12 and they are present at almost every event on or off campus. They give away the calenders to passers by. They receive all of the profits from companies, both local and national, who advertise on the back page and bottom of each page. They have sense spread to other colleges in the pac 10. You better hop on your good foot if you're going to make this a profit turning company. ASU students can vote on which girls make it into the calander, etc. get some ideas. Hell, call up Tempe 12 and ask them some questions, or even act as a liaison at your college under their name...

Membership website, good looking models, great material (I'll let you decide what that means), seems to me this stuff sells itself. The challenge is in getting "known". Get the website together, then show your material to some investors with the idea of having some events - i.e. - bikini contest, umbrella holding racer girls, provide the hostesses at various events, etc. (I can't generate more ideas without asking for reimbursement) Then put together your other forms of media, calendars, magazines, the like.
Conservative opinions from someone who thinks a little differently than most.
