    Idea - Bars/Nightclubs

I was just wondering whether or not bars/nightclubs have a system (possibly online) that when a customer is banned they can upload their ID details onto the database. Bars/nightclubs can then help eachother identify the troublemakers and keep records of incidents. I am not planning on doing this it just came to me as I was watching Cops

That would probably be a violation of privacy in most Western countries...

Not sure about other states, but here in Texas if you write a bad check at a small store (usually liquor stores) they hang it up on the wall for everyone to see. If that is not a violation of privacy, I can't imagine a database of troublemakers would be. I have been known to be wrong from time to time though.

    Not a violation of privacy.

Wow, big difference then with the Netherlands ... I just keep on learning don't I . If it is not a violation of privacy, you could look into ways of identifying these people as fast as possible. The system should be easy to work with for bouncers for example.

Just read an article about face-recognition software by (can't remember the name of the company) in a science mag. The software scrambles people on CCTV if they are not known in the system. So basically, you see only those people who are registered in the system.

Might be a good start for your idea.

Oh ok, so if there was a database that the first 4 and last 4 digits of a drivers license, or other form of identification, could be uploaded with a reason why they are there, the location of the incident etc. All the other clubs/bars that were also using it could automatically be notified or search for the details. Do you think this may be a good idea, or am I not looking at this right?

I think it would maybe be wise to further speak about my ideas for your idea in private, if you want to. Send me a private message if you want to talk about it (we can talk over MSN). I have also found the magazine article I was talking about.
