Here's the deal. I get 250,000 books per month in my store. I currently have set aside about 40,000 books that have no bar codes. These are books pre-1960 in many cases. These are often very valuable books. I don't have the time or the space to do anything with these books but at the same time I do not want to send them to the recycling center.
What I want:
- Someone close to Washington, DC (keep transport costs low)
- Someone with $5000.00 of their own money
- Someone with space to store about 10,000 books a month (2 car garage will work)
- Someone with a valid drivers license who is old enough to rent a box truck from UHaul or Budget
- Someone who wants to start and own a REAL business
What I'm offering:
- I'll supply all the inventory on consignment (meaning you pay nothing for the books up front!)
- I'll teach you how and where to sell the books
- You'll keep the first $500 you make every week as your pay
- We will split the rest of the money 50/50
Expected sales on 10,000 books would be about $5000 - $10,000 per month. There is real potential here.
You have to be willing to put in real work and this needs to be your only job. You need the $5000 up front to purchase equipment, sign up for services, and to pay for postage. You will only spend about $2000 in the first month but I need to make sure you are well capitalized for growth.
Question- What don't I do this myself?
Answer- I own five companies, I'm on pace to make $3M this year. This program does not have the needed income potential based on the amount of time needed to manage it to keep this program in house.
Please only communicate via this thread. PM's about this will be deleted with out being read. I want to see whats out there and I also want a legitimate discussion about this on YE.
If you are interested tell me a little about yourself including:
Name
Age
Location
Available Capital
Bookstore experience
Business experience
or any other info that would show you are the right person.
The further you are away from Washington, DC the more expensive this program will be. I'm not against someone from the Midwest or Southeast doing this... just be aware that you pay transport costs...
Are you out there?
