hmmm I guess my first question would be who your target market it? College students / early thirties / etc...
I would consider trying to find a local organization that has a lot of members like a college club sorority / fraternity or what not.. maybe tie in a discount through their organization to have them come out for the grand opening.
Hi Framegirl,
Maybe an ad with a coupon of percent off service to the first 50 people. It should give the urgency and also people can try your service for a little less to give you an instant customer base.
Maybe an art contest-should give you a category for the young, the old, and whomever else. Prices can be something like $25-$100 worth of art supplies from Michael's or something.
Just a few thoughts---- I hope this helps and have a great grand opening. I would like to know how it went, so keep posting.

How do younger people identify with art? Even more importantly, do younger people identify with art? What kind?
Of course, you may have already answered those questions.
The key is to find out what the age group you are targeting likes to do. I will assume you are referring to the 18-30 year old category. In this case, your grand opening needs to be a very fun event. People in this age group like to be entertained. This may be hard to do with art - I'm not sure what your long-term goals are, what kind of brand image you're trying to build, what kind of artwork you intend to carry, etc. But by figuring out who you're targeting, what you're offering, how the two connect, and what that group you're targeting likes to do, I think the question will answer itself for you.
Good luck on this!![]()
Are there and art schools in you local area?
maybe you could advertise there.
I went to an art school for middle school and high school and i know a lot of the students had their work framed, maybe you could even check out and see if you could have school hand out flyers to students in their art classes.
you could possibly how a art contest too in which the winner could receive a free framing and have their work displayed in your business.
hope these ideas helped.
also if yoiu need to print some business cards or flyers to promote you new business check out my sig
