I need to get pointed in the right direction

Well heres the deal, I'm 19 years old and I love computers and the idea of running my own internet based business. I just moved out of my parents house in February with my girlfriend, we just left that place and moved into a new place on June 1st, neither of us make much money, about 10k a year for each of us so about 20k a year in all.

Right now I'm stuck, I want to start making money online but don't know where to start because I don't have any startup money. I could swing a few hundred but thats about it. Every where I look theirs always a dead end and anything thats decent is always too saturated. I want to make money for myself and not get stuck in the 9-5 rut.

I'm a hard worker so if I could just get pointed in the right direction I would put in a lot of hours toward the right thing.

I guess what I'm looking for is a mentor or just somone to point me in the right direction. I'm very honest and bileave in honest business. I'm in no way a sales man and never could be so I'm not looking for anything like that.

Any help would be great, thanks.

If you need money, might I suggest selling things on eBay. That should give you a little extra to invest in your business. The beauty of eBay, is you can practically sell anything on there!

Now, I was once told, by a wiseman, (Jeff Wellman). That if you want to be successful online, you need to have your own product.

The steps to this is as follows:

    1. Find a profitable niche: In case you didn't know, a niche is a specific field in which your products and services are based on. For example, if I'm telling people how to make money online, my niche is Internet Marketing, or Internet Business.

PS; try to find a profitable niche that you enjoy.

    2. Find a problem within that niche: Any good product needs to be able to solve a common problem. That's what going to get people to buy this.

3.Create a product to solve that problem: This can come in an ebook, video, dvd, spreadsheet, etc.

    4. Create a sales page: This is pretty self explanatory. If you want people to buy your product, you're going to need somewhere that they can buy it.

    5. Drive traffic: No matter how good the product is, if you don't have traffic, it won't sell.

And that is the 5 steps to success, in Internet Marketing. Feel free to ask more questions, or PM me for more info. I'd love to talk with you.

I started out with less than $100 and I'm currently making around $3,500 a month and I'm hiring two full time developers just after a couple of months. Not a lot...but I'm pretty proud as I haven't even launched my main business and that and my age.

The trick behind it is smart working... Being a hard worker is great... but if you work in a smart way.... your work will be more efficient... your more likely to succeed that way.

Start with little things first... build up some capital that way... mean while think of a business you might want to get in to later on.

Once you saved up enough money... not only can you start... you'll also have some experience behind you. Hopefully you probably would've also met others who might end up being your partners.

Its hard work.... but you'll enjoy every second of it.... even when your not profiting at the start.

    Don't just dream... execute!

Not really a business guru as I'm still pretty young myself but if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

    Good luck !

maybe you ought to look within yourself first before sourcing out..

    like:
    what's your strengths/weakness?
    what's your likes/dislikes?
    what skills/knowledge/experience do you have?
what can you offer & add value to others?

a mentor can't open any door and show you the path when you don't have your own door in the first place..
unless you percieve a mentor as a fairy godmother with a magic wand..

Well I guess thats more of my problem, I'll sit here for hours researching other peoples ventures trying to find something I could do but it's very hard when you have close to no start up money. I'd love to start a website from scratch but I have no money to hire web developers.

My only real passions are computers, cooking and entrepreneurship neither of which I have gone to school for.

    don't worry..
it is not what you learnt in school that really matters, it is who you are & what you got to offer & add value to others that matters..

About your passions about computer, cooking, entrepreneurship..
how good are you with these?
good enough to create value & add benefit to a certain group of people?

it will be good if you can be SPECIFIC with what you are good at & passionate about..
Good in cooking Chinese food & cooking Pizza & making Burgers are totally different things..

XSite Pro, you can make a website with this program without the need of programming anything. It has some templates in the software, so all you need to do is pick one you like and then you start editing the text.
    Simple as that.
This software is expensive, but you can also get it for free(for testing purposes ofcourse), if you know what i mean

Just because you don't have money, doesn't mean it ends there.
There are so many other *free*programs, like Joomla, Wordpress(blogs),....
They're all used to make website designing and developing easier.

Well I love spicy food and I love hot sauces and peppers, I'm actually growing some. But I do not want to be a chef, the computer is where I want to be. It's very hard to integrate the two.

Strong desire, initiative and doing things without procrastination are the qualities an online entrepreneur needs to find a niche and make it success.
