    I need help recruiting employees

How does Starbucks, Chik-Fil-A, Pinkberry, Ambercrombie, etc recruit their employees? Their staff are usually extremely attractive and quick learners. And these places pay only minimum wage ($7.50) correct? And the pay i'm offering is far higher and less responsibilities and more flexible schedule.

Everytime I walk into a little cupcake store and see this bouncy ball of enthusiasm taking orders at the counter, I ask why isnt she working for me.

    What am I doing wrong?

I'm currently recruiting through craigslist. Most of the people come in late and are not presentable.

They have business culture and training program. Values, and all that stuff. First, get an idea of how you want your employes to be, then define the 3-7 key values of that and act from that to build the right business culture/training program/etc. Also expect the best of people, if they come in late or is not presentable that is unacceptable (as of course you will be in first, and be very presentable as a role model). It might happen 1-2 times, and you have to correct them, but after that, if happens again, they are simply not employed anymore. I'm not sure about employing through craigslist you might want to try other places to see if you can find better staff.

Thanks for posting this! One of the most important things you have to build for yourself and your Biz is a solid corporate culture. That will help attract like minded people who would also be passionate about it. Zappos, Google are amazing places for people to work because they have a great culture. What is yours? Apart from that, start using Linked In and other job recruiting sites (some are niched for college students, high school students etc.) to attract people. Good luck!
