I created a few products and they are doing well. A retailer wants to retail my products and my manufacturer recommended I get a retail certificate. What else should I get? Do I need a sales license or a business license? I am looking to get this done ASAP so any help would be appreciated. I am also in California.

Yes you need to register with the Board of Equalization for a Seller Permit http://www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/boe400spa.pdf
What type of Entity are you registered as?

If you are going to raise an invoice, I would imagine you would need a sales tax number.
