I dropped out of school!

Hi, I'm name is... well, i'm not going to tell you that. I prefer to stay anonymous right now. But what I CAN tell you, is that I'm 18 years old, and after reading rich dad poor dad, and having experimenting around working part time, I've decided to take the initiative and drop out of school.. to work full time on my first business.

I know what most of you are going to tell me. 'Don't do it!'. 'You'll regret it!'. 'You'll get hair all over your body and you'll look like gorilla!'.OK, may be not the last one. But you know what I'm talking about. I get that all the time. But the thing is... its just not true. I have a plan, I'm better than 90% people who get in the field of business I'm trying to get into, and most of all, i KNOW I'll succedd.

But still, feel free to say anything you want to tell me. I'll be looking forward to all your suggestions/don't do its/etc. If you've done something like I'm going to do please share your experiences!

Cheers,
XXX.

P.S if i'll be covering everything I go through on my journal/blog here:
Fuck School-The dropout's Journal

If you want to find out wether I want to turn into some sexy millionaire tycoon, or end up being 40 years old with no job, it'll be a good idea to check into my journal every couple days!!

To be honest, you are being a bit too over-confident. Never think you are better than others because you dont know what is out there for you. Actually no one knows! Everyday is a new beginning in the business world, one day you are a millionaire the other day you'll be washing dishes. Hence, I would recommend to keep low and concentrate on your "90% better than others" biz plan.

i would have to agree with utkarsh...i think its absolutely imparative that you have an optimistic outlook on your ventures but be humble about it with the 90% thing...your customers will find that out for themselves...i dont agree with you dropping out of school, for reasons a bunch of us have discussed on another thread...however it seems like you have a belief in your business and product...good luck

Yes, you are quite arrogant. It will take some event to humble you before you will ever succeed. Hopefully, this will happen sooner rather than later, so that you may get on with your life and your business.

P.S. Read the Rich Dad book published last year, Before You Quite Your Job - it may help you put things in a better perspective.

one thing you really need to learn: lost the hate, the arrogance and the "Im better than all my teachers" attitude. It's never going to do you any good in business because youre always working for someone, if not your teachers or boss then your customers.

risk management, kiddo. you're making a bad business decision because when things go wrong - and they will - you're uninsured against your own fuckups.

it's just youthful delusional enthusiasm...you'll get over it

try getting a proper business education - that stuff you're reading is just sales literature - it doesn't tell you anything you don't already want to hear - things like risk management.

you're paying $30 a book - and you're getting what you paid for. compare that to the price of real education.

mm interesting one - the fact you didnt suceed at school, and the fact you think you are better than everyone, although failed in basic subjects does not bode well.....however, your plight will interest people, if not more than people wanting you too fall on your face and you could exploit that quite well, Ill definately watch with interest

this is exactly the reason why kiyosaki's book is overrated.
