I built my first webpage

So after reading these forums for like a year, I finally decided to build a webpage. My primary goal is to make money, but have fun while doing it. I created a blog about sports. It is called Sports Litter. I love sports, earned my B.S. in sport management, and felt it would be ideal to find business in sports.

I've posted on here a bunch of times with whacky business ideas. This one however, might work. I've already earned money with AdSense and have only had it up 2 days.

I need opinions on the webpage please. Too little content? Should I add graphics? More links? More info in my profile? Should I move my ads to new spots? Change the font? I'm very new to this. I am excited to learn that I created this web blog for free, and already have earned money from it.

I am interested in link exchanges with anyone. So just let me know.

Check it out at http://sportslitter.blogspot.com

Or you can see it in my profile. You can email me at sportslitter@yahoo.com

I am open to all critics and any suggestions on how to improve my site and increase my revenue streams.

I went to UF as well. Same college as you.

I had a blog hosted with Bloggerf.com as well at www.evolvingentrepreneur.blogspot.com. I recently upgraded to a paid service called TypePad and created a new blog, www.adamdudley.com/blog.

Your blog overall looks good. Very clean, however I think TypePad delivers a much more professional look if you don't mind throwing down a couple of bucks a month.

If I could make one suggestion it would be to learn how to add the RSS subscribe buttons to your site to increase traffic.

Nice to see there's another Gator out there ! We gotta beat LSU this week !

I'll check out your webpages and TypePad. I don't think I am willing to pay a few bucks a month yet until I figure all this out and feel safer about my webpage.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is a RSS subscribe button, and where can i go to find the html codes for it? I don't know much about web publishing.

Start by doing a search on Yahoo about RSS. You can start with the My Yahoo button. There should also be some info in the Blogger help files.

I like your blog so much that I bookmarked it. An easy way to increase revenue with Google AdSense is to move the ads to a position where they will be read more easily. You could put them in between the first and second blog post on the page. You could also float them on the blog post. As for the RSS, you need to enable site feeds on your blog. You should be able to do it in your blog settings.

Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear you added my blog to your favorites. I've been trying to figure out how to add some small adds between current posts and previous posts, I just haven't figured out how to do it. Right now my biggest concern is increasing traffic. I had 6 hits wednesday, 18 hits thursday, and as I write this 37 hits today (only 3 are returning). I blocked my IP address so the counter doesn't count when I go to the page.

I'm still working on this RSS stuff and trying to figure it out.

Thanks for the replies.
