    hypothetical situation

Hypothetically your father is a attorney and will provide all funds for you to go to law school. Law school to you doesn't appeal but the fact that it is free knowledge is a start. Your plan is to be an entrepreneur in the long run and do not wish to become a lawyer. What do you do?

There is a lesson to learn from every subject. Even being enrolled in an Art Class will open your mind to a different way of thinking. EVERY course is beneficial. The things you might learn from Law can greatly benefit your entrepreneurial mindset. However, if you decide not to continue, let your father know that you learned a lot from Law School, but find Entrepreneurship a more fitting major.

    Best of Luck

I am from a multi-discipline background from the Arts to Engineering..

I agree with the post above that it is us who really matters what we learnt from different courses..
However I don't think entrepreneurship can be learnt in a classroom environment..

I would not go. All those years wasted in school for something you don't want or need instead of using it to be an entrepreneur and having your own business. I would say thank you but it isn't something that interests you.

EDIT: Also it'd be a waste of your fathers money to have something you would never use.

Saying i would never use my law degree is predicting the future, something no one can do.

Well that isn't quite what I meant. It seems that you don't wish to be a lawyer at all. Therefor I predict you aren't going to be sitting in an office and working on lawyer type stuff.

Yes it's possible to use it in cases where you have a business and are sued, and have to deal with legal issues.

Just saying in (my) opinion it would be a waste of time and money if that isn't the career you want to do.

To me, education is for you to learn about the concept of learning, to be able to look at things with an open mind & make decision, & also to learn about yourself..

Education is not a tool or passport for any career..
Even I come from a vast educational background, it had helped me in many aspects of life even though I never use them in any formal job at all..

Coupled with experience, it had helped me to look at multiple directions & angles using the creative, logical, human side on a detailed & big picture's point of view over the short to long term horizon even at a single issue..
It had helped me to stand out as an acute problem solver, a sharp strategist, a witty politician & a human manager..

It is your life, it shall be your take..

Go for it. Assuming you can get in. A lot of people would kill for that opportunity and I'm pretty sure you'll learn a lot that will help you with entrepreneurial life.
