    How's my idea?

I have an idea of starting a mobile advertising company that put an ad on to people's car. The commuter would get money every month for letting my company display an ad on their car.

Has somebody done this before? Are there flaws in my idea?

That great idea... Which parts of car will put the ad? How to make sure the commuter will display the ad?

The ad be placed on the doors or back window. One way to make sure commuters display the ad is to verify where they work and live. The longer the commute the better.

btw, this is not an original idea. I just googled it and there is a company doing it. I wonder why it is not popular.

It is popular. It is mainly used on taxis / cabs and busses, (in england).

There are many forms of mobile advertising, so I'm not suprised this has been done already.

You would definitely need a system to make sure the car owners leave the ads on their car...maybe there's some sort of lock or seal you can use? You could create a plastic seal that holds the ad to the car and place your logo around the seal...if the seal is broken you will know the car owner removed the ad and you can deduct his/her payout accordingly...the reason you're putting you're logo around the seal is so the car owners can't make their own seals to replace your's with.

This has been done many times before and is still being done today. Ever seen a race car?? Yeah, all the decals are being paid for. Also people into cars do rhis alot with big sponsors. For Ex. I have a car and I want tinted windows for it. I go to the Tint King and tell them if they tint my winodws for free i'll put a sticker that says tint king on my window. And depending how much exposure the car has, (carshows, racing, etc.) the price the person gets paid is increased or lowered.

The ads are stuck onto the paint with very strong glue. It would be hard to get the ads off, and if they did remove the ad it would rip off all the paint; which is why in general people don't like having the ads on their cars. It costs money to have your car re-sprayed after the ads are taken off, usually costs more than you actually get paid for having the ad on your car.

You can also get magnetic ads...some real estate brokers around here use those.

This is kind of popular in Europe.

I've seen instances where the whole car is covered in a giant advertisement(except for the windows of course), and the person driving the car get's it for free.
When doing this, you have to drive a certain distance each month, and you have to keep your car clean at all times.
But it is easier there since the countries are smaller. If they find your car in bad shape, they don't pay you for like three months.

hmm id love to get paid to place magnetic adds on my car.. sounds great, the adds would probably wind up on my refrigerator and washing machine, or even better, the bottom of the closet, but it works for me as long as im getting a check every month...

    Really good idea.

I wouldn't use anything that would hurt a vehicle owner's paint.

I wouldn't use magnetic because they could just take it off and put it back on. I am not familiar with this seal you are speaking of.

    Your solution? Vinyl.

Vinyl decals just like they use in vehicle wraps and tuner graphics. They go on fine and come off without hurting the paint, but a user would not be able to re adhere the ad once taken off.

You could even network with a certain vinyl printer and work out a deal and save yourself some operating costs.

Good luck and keep us updated.

The magnetic ones will cause the paint to fade unevenly. I would go with something that would be attached to the window.

hey guys, I need some ideas on how to prevent cheating. I foresee people lying about their daily mileage, taking off the vinyl, not driving the car with advertisement etc.
