How to work with the government?

What are the steps to do business with the City? I have a printing company and we looking to broaden our customer database to include the government. Any tips on how to do so?

    Seung,

Join the chamber of commerce, I know that here in florida they have groups inside the chamber that meet weekly, you do alot of networking with county officials.

There are very long guidelines and RFP's that Chicago puts out, check the city website.
I know I was intereasted in possibly opening up a retail location at O'Hare and it would have taken me 6 months alone just to read and understand the RFP. Not to say it isn't worth it, but be ready for a big time investment. It would also help greatly if you hired or worked directly with someone who has done business with the government before and is familiar with the process.
