I have asked this question in the past, but I feel the answer given then no longer applys, basically, I have an LLC, which is a holding company for my subsidiary businesses. This is mainly to make managing financials easier, Yes id rather just have everyhing mashed into one bank account.
So what I am wondering is how to protect the name of the subsidiaries, since I do not have them registered in anyway. Someone in the past told me to just file a DBA, and than "sell" the business to the holding company. But, what I am worried about at this point is the fact that a DBA doesn't really protect the business name from someone copying it. So I am simply wondering, should I trademark the business names and be done with it. Is there a more correct way to setup this structure?
