How to prove to an advertiser they will get their money back?

    Hey everyone,

I can really use some guidance and help. I am days away from closing the biggest advertising deal of my life. However, after re-pitching the idea to a buddy tonight an interesting question was raised, one, I am embarrassed to say I cannot answer........how do you prove to an advertiser than they will indeed get their ad dollars back?

    Ok, in general business etiquette:

    1) Obviously you can't make any guarantees

    2) You can't lie - that's just wrong and unethical

So not being able to predict the future how do you tell?

How do you answer the "What will I get out of this?" question to the advertiser?

I think if you have no history of success to show to the advertiser, then you will need to show the advertiser your detailed market research.

They will probably want to see hard facts, like poll results, or results of questionaires of the target demographic. The advertiser will need to be convinced that the target demographic will respond positively to the advertising.

    Good luck.

Just like you said - obviously you can't make any guarantees...

If they want you to prove they will get their ad dollars back, the only way that will happen is if you sign a contract to say you will pay them their money back if it doesn't do that through the advertising.

The idea is that you convince them that your plan will positively influence their target market towards their product/service, and that your plan looks to be the most effective one out of any of the others they may have seen.

You cannot prove anything, just show them why your idea is the best possible chance to reclaim their advertising dollars.
