How to make Twitter/Facebook effective business tool?

I am a member of those two top social marketing websites (Twitter/Face book) but I can't feel it until now that it’s helping our business.

Any advices please, on how to fully utilize these two and other social marketing websites.

Oooppss.. sorry if im not that clear..
What i mean is.. i am already using twitter/facebook almost 3mos now but 'till now haven't receive any business inquiries. Are there ways how to improve and attract more business using these social media?

I think you can build a relationship to your social media audience.. join the conversation and etc..

About twitter... The trick is branding yourself to get followers, then your message will be sent out to millions. And each update to Twitter can be found by anyone using the Twitter search feature. Help promote others - retweet valuable information.

What is essential to do in a way to increase your efficiency and help your business with social media you should:
Create a network of people who are really in the type of oceans your business is.
Create value through the web, try to update yourself frequently, so you can gain more loyal "customers", then link it to your profiles in social medias...by doing this you would be able of not creating value that frequently and still keep most of your customers.
