How to give your hotel guests complimentary Wine

    Hello

My company is starting a Lodge here in Colorado and I am wondering can we give our customers complimentary wine in their rooms without a liquor license?
You know how double tree gives you warm cookies? Well we want to have a bottle of wine and a few wine glasses waiting for you when you arrive at your suite in the Mountains of Colorado. What do you think we would have to do to do this?

    Thanks

Im the UK a liquor license is only needed if you are selling the liquor. However if you are giving it away for free then no license is needed ( thats only for the UK. Colerado may however be different )

    NOT LEGAL ADVICE

As long as they are of a legal age, they are able to receive wine, since you are not selling it then a licence is not required. A lot of restaurants that give wine for free do not have licence to sell it. They do it as a courtesy to their customers.

    good luck.

I used to work in a restaurant and as we had no liquor license we gave free drinks with the meals, costs us a little extra but makes us look good at the same time

I honestly dont no but there has to be some sort of legal issues with this sort of thing.

Why would bars get a liquor license wen they can just sell beer coasters and with every coaster you get a free beer.

because no one would pay $12 for a coaster hehe...

but ya, there definately has to be some sort of liability involved...especially if there are families staying in the rooms/people under age, etc. And if your hotel/lodge had a restaurant or bar that served alcohol you'd need to get one anyway and I'm sure that will cover for this issue

try it as a test...be careful of the clients you attract...and the clean up. Isn't there something else that might be more useful to everyone?
