How to get to high-end consumers? Luxury products

I am starting a company, a brand that i want to make to the top of luxury fashion accessories.

The basic things to make it a luxury product i already know. High quality of the raw material, high quality store service, and high price.

But i have a doubt in how i can get the high-end consumers of luxury products to bought it or just KNOW that exists. How can make my brand to be in same league of recent fashion luxury accessories like D&G, etc ? How can i make that those people who buy Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, etc, know my brand ?

I will wait for an answer or help

    Regards

Well, marketing. And the high price, definitely. People automatically assume there's some value behind it.

I got it! Get it in the hands of a celebrity perhaps. I can't think of the word, it's driving me crazy, like a sponsorship.

Well anyways, if you can do/afford that, then that should definitely send some consumers your way.

Word of mouth. And most importantly the price.

I agree with Chris. A celebrity endorsement would be great.

Also, run an ad in fashion magazines and in the New York Times. That's where your competitors are advertising. If you open up to the first page of the Times you will see ads from Tiffany, Saks, Chanel, Gucci and others.

I'm assuming you have a boat-load of cash or a way to get your hands on some if you are going to advertise in those publications and stock a high-end store. It sounds like it would be a great time though. Best wishes!

    lol, your not kidding

well, it should be something that a specific group of people would want and can afford. unless your talking about unaccessible luxury products...than, just find one customer

I don't know an awful lot about high-end fashion, but what I do know is that you need internationally recognised designers on board.

The entire process begins on the catwalk, I believe. You should probably start at obtaining a designer or two, preferably one with a solid amount of contacts in the industry, get them on board by pitching an impressive business idea.

I think from then on its getting into the hype; catwalks, magazines, etc.

Hope this helps, but you should probably be asking a designer these questions, if you can.

    well nick... think about it...

what are the odds of getting an internationally recognized designer to jump on board with a start up that has little or no capital or little or no knowledge of what to do with the capital if they had it let alone "a couple" of internationally recognized designers???

and honestly, if they are already internationally recognized, than it's probably too late to be approaching them...

if the entire process starts at the catwalk, than wouldn't you think their would be hundreds if not hundreds of thousands of people all struggling to get down it?? do you think maybe it's like american idol? designers wait in line on the street for a chance to audition?

you don't just "go to the catwalk" and display your merchandise... their is an entire process that comes before that. the talent, work and the effort and struggle and prototyping and manufacturing connections and history and hell, a ton of things that each on it's own can take a lifetime of effort to master.

maybe some miraculous hapenstance will propell you to fame or just plain ol dumb luck but that's not something you should add to your business plan. sure you need some luck but beyond sheer dumb luck you need to have something, do something or know something that other people want...

a simple "idea/brainfart" "oh, i want to be a rocket scientist or olympic athlete or pesident of the free world" is all fine but really, the effort needs to go into it, a committment needs to be made and kept.. you need to follow your calling "and" create a path to get to it.

    you understand this, right?

I think Marketing is most important here.
Fashion items I believe is something that people don't know much about themselves - so they are very influenced by the advertisements they see.

For technology for example, people know how to research and assess if the product is good. For fashion and similar, it is all about outside influence. Make sure you have a good marketing campaign where you focus on the quality etc. of the brand.

Don't forget, brands like D&G and Chanel, etc were started many years ago and are pretty much 'vintage' brands. Research how they started if you really want to follow in their footsteps but don't expect to be on par with them for a long, long time, if ever.

These days, luxury clothing/accessory brands are aplenty and they're all pretty much small businesses. I think your aim should be to provide something completely individual and unique, something special, at least to an extent; something that differs you from any other similar brand. I think the word I'm looking for is 'bespoke'.

Do plenty of research and good luck!
