How to find investors for a website?

I am a premed major at the University of Texas, so I am unsure of how to go about finding investors for a video sharing website idea I’ve been working on for months. I have created a business plan for this video sharing website. Already I have analyzed the market for my product and gotten a bid on creating it. How would I find investor to present my business proposal to?

    P.S. This website doesn’t resemble youtube.com.

You could start such kind of site very easily. There is free open source software available like phpMotion for example, so just install it and then take a programmer as a partner to code changes for your idea.

It depends on how much money you need and what you are willing to offer in return. In any case with a project like this you either need a fully functional site that you can use as collateral (not your case) or you need a killer business plan that is detailed and professional.

Then comes the amount... depending on what you need
Under $10K - credit cards, banks, friends, or prosper
Under $250k - Micro venture funding, SBA, banks, or incubators
Over $250k - Don't ask me I have no idea...

Yeah I would firstly suggest that you get started ASAP and launch the site. Seldom do we see, as entrepreneurs, startups getting funding before even launch. This will allow investors to see not only how the idea plays out but also you as the "doer". Are you able to take it to where it needs to be to turn a profit? Those sorts of questions any good investor would ask before putting a single $ into your startup. I love the energy and wish you luck. Get started NOW. Partner with people who have the skills you need.

    There are no "investors"
Get that word out of your vocabulary
    Learn to operate independently
You need to be able to finance your venture without external equity finance
