How to evaluate chinese manufacturers ?

Importing chinese products seems to be on the buyer side more about jungle than a structured and professional business approach these days.

While some professionals are continuously looking for independant Buyer websites where buyers could rate and review chinese suppliers (like Ebay or tripadvisor do in their business area actually), some polls show that buyers are not always necessary willing to share their best vein.

Is there finally a way to avoid all scammers and spammers that we get in touch with as soon as we register with all kind of Emarketplaces like Al........ or made-in-somewhere.com?

Amongst tens of thousands of asian companies, how can we secure the sourcing of chinese products when it comes to extend our catalogue product range?

Is there somewhere a directory of "good" and "poor" suppliers where all good/fake products and suppliers would be identified?

Hey! for me, Alibaba does not help
Most of their active members on the forum are suppliers

Have a look here: www.sourcingreview.com. I have reviewed suppliers there.
I know a lot of professionals reviewing asian suppliers on sourcingreview.
I met some Sourcing Review people during the last Canton Fair.
On top of being professional people, there are really nice and helpful. Professional buyers like us rating asian companies is the ultimate sourcing experience.

Who knows other websites or forums in this category???

I am a guy want to start up a business based on China, be a supplier to export, but I don't know what to do.

I visited some B2B websites, but I don't know, maybe some of them are fake, can you guys check it for me?

    www.importers.com
    www.globalbuyersonline.com

and a few others, but I am puzzled, if I registered as a member, can I get buyers, ? the money is not small for me, and , I don't know, how about they hire somebody and inputting fake buyer informations and cheat you to register and send the menoy to them?????

Here at my company, we are a supplier of some Swedish company, but they are not directly found us, but through some QC companies( take care of the inspection and quality control for the clients, and get some services fee), and that works very well.

Can somebody find some buyers for me? on small hardware/tools stuff??
I wanna be a good supplier, but I got no customers, and no business, nothing!!

I think www.globalsources.com is a good site, they (claim to, at least) visit suppliers and make sure they measure up to their standards before they'll be put on the website.

I'm going to be on the ground for this year's Canton Trade Show, so I'll be checking out suppliers there and then spending some time visiting their facilities in the area, if they're based in the region. Hopefully something good will come of it.

That's what I'm going to do. Following the trade fair, I'm going to make a shortlist of suppliers and go from there.

I have many imported products from china, and set up the trip to inspect factories. If they know you are inclined to go there and visit should problems arise.. they'll be on it quickly.

    Thumbs up

it sounds well and necessary for our making some investigates among all of dealers who have done business or been going on,by which we can see who is better or poorer. why not?

and i think if you want to deal with Chinese indeed, some inspect may be important,i mean who feels easy in mind to trade with people beyond thousands of kilometers not knowing of the circumstances of them?

besides,if you got some Chinese friends or businessmen who deal with China, maybe it helps, too

or you can deal with the companies that Chinese govenments or your governments recommend well.
    good luck!

It also helps to know someone who speaks Mandarin, because sometimes mis-commnuications arise from lack of English skills. for the most part, most it seems Chinese are pretty fluent in English.

yes, many Chinese start to learn English since they're in a kindergarten, hope they can help communication between Chinese and English-speaking people.
