    How to build a Brand?

    Hey Guys,

Curious if anyone had tips and/or recommended reading on building a brand. I'm trying to learn how to build a brand and have my brand associated with a specific need.

For example, I want my fitness equipment to be the first that comes to mind when you're thinking about opening a gym.

PS - Admin, sorry I put this in the other category too. If you delete one, please delete the other.

Everyone today has heard of social media and the buzz it can create practically overnight. At the very least you need to have a Facebook and Twittter account. They are easy to create and also free. As far as Facebook is concerned, you want to create a Facebook fan page for your business. This fan page is an awesome way to generate brand visibility.

    Hey,
With regards to the fitness equipment, i would think that your brand would develop as people become aware of the quality and durability of your equipment.

I believe that with gym equipment, by providing and hitting the two key requirements of what the equipment is needed for (durability and quality), your brand development would soon follow suit. Of course things such as good service, safety etc. attribute to the development of a good brand, but with fitness equipment you should focus more on the equipment itself as the brand will trail behind if the equipment can be trusted- this can be a timely process.

Hoe that sheds you some light on the idea,
    Paul

Well to start with, what exactly is different about your equipment that would make people want to buy it. Looking pretty won't cut it. People who are serious about fitness want the very best equipment for the very best results. The brands that continue to sit at the top of the table, are those who are constantly creating new ideas, doing more research and PROVING that their equipment does work.

Also how much money do you have to spend on marketing. In the business you are in there are constant ads on TV, that surely doesn't come cheap.

I think you got to be creative think outside of the box. Otherwise I think you will struggle.

Your best results would be to get on body building forums and fitness, talk about your products, post pics, ask if they would buy, or like to see these in their gym etc. Word of mouth will do the rest. Be prepared to answer a lot of difficult questions and get picked up on every flaw because those guys will know exactly what they want.

    Hi thedynasty,

When brainstorming about building a brand think about the favorite brands in your life and make a list of why they standout in your mind. Branding is a lot about your name, your logo, your slogan, your packaging etc. You will want to work on all of these with extreme detail if you want your brand to stand out. Consistency is another huge part of branding. Also try to think of a niche or angle that could set you apart from the competition. Use this unique position to establish your brand in the eyes of the consumer. Superior quality and celebrity endorsements can also go along way towards building a brand. There are a lot avenues you can take and a lot of business aspects you will need to focus. Do keep us posted on what steps you plan to take to build a brand and what products your brand /company will represent.

Customer satisfaction is one of the key factors too when it comes to equipment that people uses. You can start with your present clients. You should know that people must talk about your business so their feedback is important. if they are happy with the service that you give and if they spread this satisfaction that they felt, other people will surely will become curious too. Think of things on how you can make that positive feedback spread.
