    How to advertise this business?

Normally I am the one who is helping others on here, but it's come to a time where I need help.

I spent $1,400 creating a video editing studio. I do high quality HD videos locally and not statewide or nation-wide.

I did two free jobs just so I could have a portfolio to show. I did a 45 second commercial for a local deli/coffee shop, and a 10:36 minute film of an event for a non-profit company.

I have been handing out business cards and posting them and flyer's on bulletin boards. Also I have mailed out 2 dozen flyer's + business cards to businesses in professional looking printed envelopes. Also used craigslist.org also, but get hundreds of spam from it.

I will not use yellowpages, or newspaper advertising simply because I did that before and went bankrupt with a large bill that I had to pay and almost had to go to court over.

How can I generate more business? I only have 1 single job lined up for a wedding August 1st. I've been promoting for 2 months straight. Word of mouth is the best kind of advertising, but if I don't get jobs done, no word of mouth is going to happen. Can you all suggest more ways of getting myself out there? There is one video studio in town and they charge $100/hour and I am charging only $60/hour so I should be able to undercut them, also I don't show my prices, I want to talk about peoples video needs before telling them the price, but can't get any contacts.

Here is my website if interested. It's not 100% done.

Maybe film local events and produce videos from them and give them away until your name gets out there

There is a local film theater where people make their own short films and show it to the community. Something like that you mean?
