Fear can be an indicator of a gold mine waiting to be uncovered! No I don't mean going around scaring people in hopes that they'll give you money. This isn't Halloween Horror Nights. Although if they do, more power to you! What I'm talking about is the fact that its natural for people to fear the unknown.Let me explain with some background information. Fear, one of our most ancient and strongest emotions is usually brought on by people's reactions to things that are different and hard for them to understand.Humans as a species seek predictable outcomes. When dealing with fear, our brains secrete adrenaline, dopamine and a host of other enzymes and we're in the fight or flight mode. So we often avoid a lot of circumstances JUST because we don't know what it is or its new.

So How do I mine this Gold?

So Whats this got to do with business your probably wondering? Where does the money come into play? Well picture this, people are so concerned with risk aversion usually that they never take chances on what could be a great moment for them to make some money or change their lives. James Bymes summed it up perfectly when he said "Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity. They seem to be more afraid of life than death". As entrepreneur's WE are the ones who are supposed to take big risks at the hopes of attaining big rewards, and we do. So what's the issue? We are so easily influenced by others, that when others start doubting us, we too start fearing that we are on the wrong path.

Pick up those Shovel's and Chisels'

Sometimes even your closest family members and friends, when presented with a unique idea lets say for a business you want to start, will show fear. They don't always show it in normal ways though, some people will just tell you its a bad idea, others will laugh and say its silly. They are just dealing with their fear in different ways. Do not let this discourage you, let it be your fuel. Let it tell you that your on the right path and to motivate you even more.

For it tells you that you are creating something nobody else has and it may be huge and even change your industry! Be grateful that others are fearful even, because it gives you the window to do something spectacular while everyone sits idle in fear. While you take the risks, spend the money believing in your dream, others will look on in shock. They will have their tails beneath their legs though soon enough when you strike gold down in your mine.

How can you be so sure?

Some of the greatest businesses and inventions were created people who were told that their ideas was silly and wouldn't work and no one believed in them. They went and did it anyways and it was a huge success. A gold mine.Sigmund Freudwas booed from the podium when he first presented his ideas to the scientific community of Europe. He returned to his office and kept on writing. A better example though, that you might associate more with is Walt Disney. Throughout his entire life, people were telling him that he was crazy for doing what he was doing, that it wouldn't be a success and they'd laugh. Time and time again he would believe in himself and disprove everyone, by changing the world and becoming a success. His most notable item though was the opening of his "theme park" called Disneyland that no one had ever heard of before. They all thought he was crazy for building it in the middle of no where and spending so much money on it. It became one of his most amazing projects of his lifetime and is still a significant impact on people everywhere.

Today however goldmine instances can be seen in places like the Internet on sites such as Twitter or Facebook. Who knew just a few years ago that they would be as huge as they are today? No one really, and a lot of people were in fear about believing in such an idea, saying something like that would never be possible and what purpose would it serve? Well look at them now.

So I encourage you to go find your gold mine and to start digging, and when someone fears your creative idea, then you know you should work that much harder.
