How should I better monetize my blog?

So I started a labor intensive SEO Campaign for my blog rcbryan . com about 60 days ago. Things are going very well. The site now ranks:

    business consultant 39 Google
for sale by owner 70 Google

This is after two months worth of worth and about a 20% completion rate on the overall project. I'm hoping to break first page by the end of the year on both terms.

Now I need to create a plan to capitalize on this work. I picked my two search terms based on what I know best... being a business consultant... and how to sell real estate with out using an agent. Here are some of my ideas...

1- Write a few ebooks (maybe even a real book later) on the topic and then sell them on my blog. I think I can provide great insight into: starting an online business, starting a bookstore, starting a non-profit, marketing for a non-profit, or just general business stuff. I can also write a how to guide for selling your home 'for sale by owner' which there is a market for and some people charge up to $500 for this info.

2- I could install some affiliate links to sell other peoples products based on these markets. This is basically the same as above but would be less labor intensive ie - less profitable.

3- Advertising space- most people think this is a no brainer (as I'm already doing it) but it doesn't really create the income I'm hoping for.

4- Redo the site entirely and make it the home page for my consulting services. I've considered this yet I have another project I've been working on for three years that is supposed to be the new face of my consulting company.

I'm just wondering what you all think. I need to break the first page before I'll have the kind of traffic I need to make decent money. But I'm getting there so I need to start my planning now.

    Feedback is appreciated

Well you can sell ebooks from clickbank and check the response. If you manage to sell a few ebooks, then it will definitely be worthwhile writing your own ebook. The other thing you can possibly do is sell paid blog reviews. Most SEO guys would pay a lot of money to get a blog review from a site that ranks well on Google.

Good ideas... thanks... I can test market my ability to sell ebooks by using clickbank.. if it works I can then invest the time to write my own. Not a bad idea at all!

You can start a newsletter or give away one of your book as a bribe to get people to subscribe this way you can market to your list over time and most important when you have your book written you have instant traffic to send to the sales pages. This will also enable you to do joint ventures with other marketers or even sell advertising space in your newsletter or cahrge other marketers to send a message to your list.

You can also review a product as a post where you sell someone else's product or service as a affiliate.

    I hope this helps

I would also have a way to capture subscribers of people that are interested in your niche. I have found that this has been a great way to get many sales of ebooks or affiliates that I would not normally get. It also allows you to have more products available to sell because you can have them set up in the auto responder.

affiliates would be the most LESS risk way to go and right now with the levels of traffic you have it would be your best option. While you're building up your SEO rank you could be writing your ebook and also build up an email list by letting people know you're going to give away a teaser to you're ebook to subscribers for free.
