How much would you charge?

Hi All,

I need your opinion on this if you do not mind sharing. Ok, here goes.

How much would you charge to do the following:

1. Setup a Wordpress blog for somebody
2. Some customization is involved but not much (header, categories, logo, etc)
3. Plugins will be installed
4. Ad banners installed
5. Will be optimized
6. SEO/backlinking to get the site to the first page of Google

Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

I think you could probably charge between $250 - $500 for the above mentioned services. Probably the most valuable part of the package is:

6. SEO/backlinking to get the site to the first page of Google

Can you really guarantee a first page Google rank as that is a tall order? How many keywords would it be ranked for?

How much revenue do you expect the site to generate per month for the client?

Did the client make any mention of his potential budget constraints?

I was thinking I would charge $350 - $400

Can you really guarantee a first page Google rank as that is a tall order? How many keywords would it be ranked for? Yes, I have already done the research and the competition is low with decent traffic for the keyword. I even had the client buy the domain name with the keyword in it

How much revenue do you expect the site to generate per month for the client? Not sure, but it will definitely help their business a lot. The keyword gets like 5,400 searches monthly for local search.

Did the client make any mention of his potential budget constraints? He has the funds as other people were quoting him ridiculous prices in the thousands.

I would charge $200 for set up, besides seo, and $15/hr everything after.

You want a per hour in there somewhere otherwise you could end up working a lot more then your getting paid for. Now for #6, the SEO, I would not gurantee him you can get number 1, as no SEO firm would ever gurantee this. Explain to him things change and maybe set up a payment amount based on increase in rank from current rank? I am not sure, I have never charged for SEO myself.

I usually charge by the hour, but I KNOW I can rank #1 on Google for this one. I never guarantee 1rst page on Google, but this is a rare case. I checked the competition and the site that is ranking #1 has like 4 backlinks. I could smoke that really easy

Nice! I am half-interested in the keyword but I understand you probablly won't share it :P

If your confident in the 1st page status you could prob bump the price up say $500, and then state in contract the 1st rank is guaranteed only for say, 3 months from end of delievery. Screenshot it for records and go on your way.
