The fee for my LLC is $800 for the year. The fee for my personal taxes are $225 a year.
I have been going to the same guy for 5 years now and I don't recieve a discount. These are his standard rates.

Is this guy doing your book keeping or is he just doing your year end taxes? Is he also doing your sales taxes (if you are doing sales)? Two hundred a month is steep. You can do your own book keeping but let him file your sales taxes (monthly-quarterly-yearly whatever you are required to do) and your yearly income tax preparation.

Income tax prep should run $100-$125. Business entity tax prep should run $150-$200. Sales taxes....I wouldn't know because I don't have to file that. Someone here maybe know.

Depends what the CPA is doing for you.
We keep our books ourselves and file sales tax ourselves.

In general, it will depend on how much time they have to spend. ie. If a CPA is doing quarterly financial statements for you, it will depend how neat your records are.

LT's comment about $100-$125 or $150-$200 for income tax is very low. I'm not sure where you are located or what services you are getting and if these are from a CPA or just an accountant.
For business tax filings, you should expect to pay at least $500 in my experience, just for a pretty basic filing.

I guess I'm getting a good deal then. I've been going to his firm for 8 years now. He services our entire family and our business-maybe that's why. He's also a CPA. I spend about $750 for 4 personal tax filings and 1 business filing. Maybe that's just how it is here in Cali.

I think that it depends a lot on how much work there is for the accountant to do, whether you give them the books electronically, and a lot of other factors.

I would try talking to 2 or 3 accountants in your area and describing you needs to them, then seeing what they all come back at as far as fees.
