How many businesses do you currently own?

I have several business ideas and debating about doing more than one business at a time as I am self employed full time and I am in front of the computer for more than 10 hours a day on the average.

So, my question is how many businesses do you own that make more than a $500 a month, Not really talking about websites that are affiliate advertising like adsense.

There are 3 different industries I would like to start a business in as time progresses and some have different services offered and would be based more on a market sector than an all in one service shop.

    Curious to see the results.

    Plan good and hard!

I currently have 1 actual business entity that operates under a number of trade names and owns quite a few internet properties, trademarks and products.

I recommend you focus on the idea that you are most passionate about AND that there is actually a thriving niche market for. Don't waste your time by spreading thin - focused energy is your friend!

Good luck in your ventures, keep us posted on your progress!

What do you call multiple businesses? Currently I am employed full time as well as own a business and both make much more than $500/mo.

Up until two years ago, I had 4-5 different "ventures", rental properties, buy/repair/sell homes, clean out bank repossessed homes, sell bank repo'd homes as a Realtor, etc., each making over $500/mo/venture but they were all one business name.

Hope you get out and exercise a little too. Doesn't sound too healthy to be sitting in front of a computer screen 10 hours a day.

I don't really have a business, just my friend and I running some eCommerce sites together. It's what I like to do and a company to do it under isn't necessary right now. Hopefully we grow large enough to though soon.

I know businesses make much more than $500 a month let alone $500 a day, This was thrown in as many people consider google ad sense sites that make $200 a month a business.

    Actually 2 main areas:

and about 4 websites for each area.

My thoughts: Start the first company and as I have time to grow, start another and then more.

Highly successful entrepreneurs will advise you to focus on one business at a time and scale them up before scaling another. Never do multiple businesses at the same time. While I have more than 10 different businesses that generate above $500/month, I built them over time.

Would you rather have a single business generating multi-million dollar revenues or say 3 businesses doing several thousand each... How you focus your time and energy will be reflected on your business' overall performance.
