With a good web designer you could design a site of good or better quality as this.

Prosper.com is a well established, high traffic web site. It depends on the resource and skills you have available to determine whether you will be able to compete with it.

Generally speaking it would be hard to start a site such as Prosper.com but the more resource (money, time etc ) you have available to you, the less hard it will be.

Good luck in whichever direction you take.

You would think that domain name would be taken already. The key is to find a good webhosting company.

Actually, there are a few more....zopa.com and lendingclub.com ...google person to person lending or p2p lending...and quite a few things will come up. A similar site will cost a lot, and you will have to pay out some major cash for advertising.
