How do you make something adhesive?

I would like some information on custom building a product. Who would I contact to manufacture a band-aid that is:

    1) extremely adhesive
    2) can endure moisture such as rain, being stepped on, and stress
    3) can remain functional for at least 3 to 4 weeks before reapplying

Eventually, I would like to purchase in bulk by the thousands. But first I'd like to work with somebody that has the experience and patience to prototype in small quantities until the final product is released.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

3M? oh and dont call it a band aid unless you want a law suit. Thats a company name. But also, have you thought of the health issues of not taking off a "band aid" for 3 weeks. It would get dirty and fester. Also, I dont know if I'd want to take an industrial adhesive off of my skin. It'd rip the scab off.

Then again maybe your use for this product isnt what I think it is

Health issues of leaving it on is going to be a big factor, which is why I would need to it to be fully functional for 3-4 weeks. This would include the ability to keep the surface healthy.

I see the conventional "band-aid" becoming obsolete very soon. There is a new spray on film made by Elastoplast that is much more hygenic and comfortable than normal plasters.

Here in the US (i didnt look where you guys all are) they are also selling a new thing by bandaid that you just put on with a q-tip. Its a gel that quickly becomes a bandaid! Like liquid skin. Far superior to classic bandaids!

Good luck with this, however my first concern would be that companies like 3m, johnson and johnson , and all others involved in such things hire tons of talented materials scientists, organic chemists, etc. Why would they decide not to make such a product already?

There may very well be an answer to that, that does not shoot down what you are doing. But such things should be thought of!
