How can I make money on being able to predict future products

Hello Everyone,

Here's the story. I keep a notebook full of my ideas and thoughts. I have been for about 2 years. As I look through the book I notice that some ideas I came out with are dead-on predictions of things they are coming out with in the future year or so.

Of course as I build my networks I'll be able to at least catch up to bigger industries so i can execute an idea at the same time they do. But what of the other visions I saw especially with the future of cell phones, VOIP etc. Is there any way i can profit off knowing exactly what kind of products are going to come out in the future before they are really introduced or hit any kind of press?

James

Those predictions you're making James are called market forecasting. There are many firms that have a group forecasters and trendwatchers, especially in my industry, advertising. The most famous forecaster is Faith Popcorn and her Popcorn Trends.

If you'd rather not work in a creative agency, either pitch your ideas to existing companies or take off on your own with them. If you think you have some ideas that are way ahead of their time get a patent for them.

Good luck James.

(Just for the hell of it, what number am i thinking of right now?)

You sound like an inventor.
The only way to make money of your ideas is either to invest in the stock market or your idea (i.e. your patent).
There are a lot of companies that will help you out so long as your idea is unique enough and not already patented.
The thing is, patents are usually in the works well ahead of time. So if you think you made a new idea, and the product comes out a year later, more likely than not it was in the works for some time. It can take 3-7 years!
