How can I get an appointment with a counselor?

I want to get expert advise on how to run my business. Whether to stay off the books business or register the name of my company. Whether to get insurance or not. Things of that nature. How can I get this sit down with someone?

I'm in the NY/NJ area. Anyone know?

You local city hall may have resources for small businesses that could help. I know that most 'economic development' offices within most city halls that I've seen will have this type of information and people that will help you. These people are employed by the city to help businesses and entrepreneurs get the information they need and get the questions answered that you require.
